Farmers Wife Sampler

I miss the snow, and I don't have a fireplace at this time; but I can still stay inside where it's warm and quilt!!!

This block #1 Attic Windows
Well, it's a little different, ha!  I cut the pink dots fabric the wrong way,  so it is actually the mirror image of what it is supposed to be.

block # 2 Autumn Tints
Ok... ummm that's what the name is in the book.  Think I'll have to rename mine.

All together so far....
I am definitely wondering if I'm going to be able to make all these colors work.  ha ha.  That's what I love about quilting.  It's exciting to put things together, and then see how it works out.

Outta the Funk!!!

I've finally set up my sewing machine.  I haven't quilted in... ohh about 9-10 months.  So this is my new sewing room, ha ha. It is actually my dining room.
While I was visiting Tennessee my Mom, Johna'lee (the one I acquired after I married) showed me a quilt she intends to start, and suggested we each make one.  I've always wanted to make a sampler, and so I've started...
The book we're working out of is called the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt.  It's been a fun book to read.  All the blocks were inspired by letters written in the 1920's by farm wives.
It's going to be a scrappy quilt,  so I don't have to just pick one or two colors.  Yay!!! I really like a lot of different colors.   : D

A bunch of fabric I have out for this project.
Oh the funk? Well since I got back from Tennessee I've just felt revived!!  Inspired anew to create and live, make memories instead of just float thru life, without accomplishing anything. So what did it?   A little vacation? Seeing Johna'lee put on a wedding, at her house, with like 5 days to prepare?  Seeing that newborn babe? New year coming up (resolutions)?  Maybe some of all of it.  Whatever it was it feels GOOD to be out of the funk.  So expect more posts... :D

Rolltop Desk~~ Surreal Blue

I'm so bummed that I forgot to take a before picture of this desk!!  Looking at BEFORE and AFTERS is almost my favorite part of transforming some thing.

My husband did the distressing on the piece.  Didn't he do a great job!?!?!?!
I just love this color!! And rolltop desks are so old fashioned (a good thing) to me.

These stools are sturdy!!! I love it.  Whenever I've come across barstools before it seems like the are so wobbly I'm afraid to sit on them, but not these ones. Plus the tops are 15 in.!!!!

So here are the before pictures...

 And the afters...

The color we used here is called rainwashed.  Hop on over to the

♥♥ Coats Hooks ♥♥

I have 3 small children.  I kinda wish they were all still small, but I love them just the way there are. I'm always wishing that they could hang up their coats when they take them off, instead of dropping it on the floor.  They can't quite reach they hangers in the coat closet, so that is why I love a coat rack.  I also like the look of a hook in a nook.  Ummm yes, we love Dr. Suess. Why do you ask?    Giggle

So here are some before and afters of this little number, that happens to be a hand-me-down.  My mom gave it to a couple of years ago. Yes, it just got paint this week. haha
Oh yeah! And I'm linking this post up with Feather Nest Friday

Our Lastest Find

Picked this up just the other day!! I'm on the fence here!! I love to paint things. It's so exciting to see something transformed, and I'm not usually real big on the natural wood, but this piece is beautiful, as is. ???????????

A Table Makeover

I liked the curves and the drawer pulls on this table.  Just had to give it a facelift.
This is our stressed tique color.
