Pink Vintage Pfaff Sewing Machine

Picked up this vintage PFAFF from Craigslist.  My husband, Mr. Painter, thought is would be cute pink, so he taped it up SUPER carefully, and let 'er rip with the pink gloss!  I think it's adorable.

Mr. Painter, when he got done with the machine went to town on the desk.  After a day or 2, when it was all dry he thought he see if it would sew.
So he messed around with it for an hour or so, got kinda fluster with it, gave up.

About 10 minutes later came and tried again for an hour so, gave up.
Can you see it? You can still see Pfaff 230 on it.

This went on 2 more times until late that night. And then a little in the morning.  He finally decided to call a professional. :)

The sewing machine service man didn't think very much of it being pink. :/  Something about it being a collector's machine.

We found out it had extra parts on it.  ??? There was an extra disk in the tension dial, knob...? Can't think of what to call that.

Anyway, Mr. Painter was quite impressed by the repair guy.  He got it running, and now it sews!  Boy does it.  We are so excited about having such a heavy duty machine.

Hi Melissa,
Your vintage "pink" machine is wonderful. Your husband did a fantastic job and I love how pretty the cabinet looks, too. I had a vintage 1950 Viking that I sewed on for many years and then gave to my daughter, She loves it and uses it ( I miss it and wish that I could trade my newer Viking back for my old one, but she love it). These old machine were build very stout, so to have old that run good is a blessing. Have fun using it! You will certainly be sewing in style :)
I am excited to see that you are following my little blog.
Thank you so much, I appreciate the encouragement and the friendship :) It will be fun becoming good blogging friends and sharing ideas.
Have a great week.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

I love your machine. So glad it sews for you now.
I just acquired a vintage Viking...and am loving sewing on it. We had to make some adjustments to it...but it runs great now.
I like mine in the original Viking Green... but your's sure is cute being pink.
Do either of you sew? Or maybe interested in learning?
Hope so, Enjoy it. ~Pat

I have 22 vintage machines,I'm 1 machine away from being a ;0)
What kind of paint did he use? I have a couple that I rescued with the intention of painting. But I have to rent a bead blaster and use auto paint which requires a paint gun attached to an air compresser.

Can you ask your hubby what primer and paint he used and about the top coat? Thank you! Amie
